Lose yourself in the beauty of Argentina with Us
Beautifully located within the spectacular Nahuel Huapi National Park, San Carlos de Bariloche is gorgeously positioned and offers a veritable feast to travellers. The picturesque ‘Circuito Chico’ is probably the world’s most scenic city tour, and the view from Campanero Hill is justifiably regarded by National Geographic as one of the finest on the planet. Hiking during spring and summer makes way for skiing in winter.
Buenos Aires is the most elegant and European city in South America. Beautiful antique buildings are mixed in with bold modern architecture, and graceful wide avenues provide fabulous walking trails. After visiting the famous sights venture into the stylish neighbourhoods where the city really comes alive, with fabulous restaurants and bars, boutiques and bookshops.
El Chalten, 3hrs north of El Calafate is one of the most exquisite corners of the globe and a walker’s paradise. Lakes, forests and glaciers abound and the soaring peaks of Mt. Fitz Roy and Mt. Torre provide a grand backdrop.
‘Iguazu’ means ‘great water’ and it is very great indeed. Every second, over 6 million litres of water, extending 1.5km through lush rainforest, plunge 100m to the Iguazu River below! And nearly as many photos are taken. Surrounded by a huge sub-tropical rain forest covering 135,000 acres that is home to thousands of different species of flora and birds including parrots and hummingbirds, you should add a visit to the fabulous bird Park on the Brazil side as well.
The Ruta 40 is one of the wildest and least-travelled roads anywhere. Spanning the length of Argentina the Ruta 40 traverses extraordinarily beautiful countryside, barren, remote at times dramatic, other times quite eerie. After days of travelling through stark landscapes you gaze upon the amazing towers of Mount Fitz Roy, visible from 100km away. Further south is Perito Moreno Glacier, and then cross the Straits of Magellan to Tierra del Fuego, and on the Ushuaia –quite literally, the end of the road!
The colossal Perito Moreno Glacier is a performance more than an attraction. The most accessible advancing glacier in the world, it creaks and groans as it pushes further down from the Southern Patagonian Icefield. Stroll along the walkways and take a front row seat, to watch and listen as the regular calvings break off, thunderously crashing into the water below.
