DAY 1. 20 AUG: SYDNEY TO ALBURY
Driving south from Sydney we’ll stop for morning tea in Jugiong. This hidden village is home to a superb and surprising cafe. Take a walk along the Murrumbidgee River in historic Gundagai, to see the spectacular latticework of the wooden bridges. Visit the surprising village of Holbrook to learn why there is a submarine parked here, 200km from the ocean. Arrive in Albury where we’ll get together for a welcome dinner. (You can meet us in Albury if you prefer)
Follow the winding waters of The Murrumbidgee, Murray and Darling Rivers on our 9-day Journey.
Travel through spectacular scenery and amazing history, stretching from colonial to ancient times. Watch the full moon rise over sand dunes where aboriginal culture has spanned 60,000 years. Quicken the pace through the frenetic & fleeting riches of the gold rush. Be seduced by the sometimes harsh and natural beauty of the land, and inspired by the resilient people who live in our regional areas.
