DAY 1. SYDNEY TO PARKES
Set off across the mountains to our first art silo at Portland on the way to historic Bathurst. End the day in Parkes, where we’ll visit ‘The Dish’ and lesser-known, Elvis museum.

DAY 2. ART SILOS, ORGANIC FARM, HAY PLAINS SUNSET
See some amazing silos in the Riverina, and visit an organic farm, then drive across the plains to Hay for a perfect ‘big sky’ sunset.

DAY 3. SHEAR OUTBACK, OUTBACK PUB, WENTWORTH
Visit the Shear Outback centre, then take a backroad to a true backcountry pub for lunch. Follow the Murray River to a winery for some tasting before reaching Wentworth.

DAY 4. MEETING OF THE MURRAY AND DARLING RIVERS, MUNGO NP
Walk to the merging of the rivers then follow the Darling to Mungo, a stunningly beautiful, spiritual, and important place. Watch the full moon rise over the unbelievable formations.

DAY 5. KINCHEGA NP, MENINDEE LAKES BROKEN HILL
Explore the birdlife and flooded gums in the lakes, and historic homestead. Visit the Burke & Wills campsite and dine at the famous Mario’s Palace Hotel.

DAY 6. BROKEN HILL
Tour Broken Hill’s highlights and the iconic town of Silverton, with its famous pub. Or you can tour Mutawintji NP for exceptional rock art rich in Aboriginal history.

DAY 7. MILPARINKA, DEPOT GLEN TIBOOBURRA
Drive to the most remote NSW town, on the edge of the huge Sturt National Park where you really feel as though you are in the heart of the desert.

DAY 8 . STURT DESERT, CAMERON CORNER, DINGO FENCE, WHITE CLIFFS
Explore the enormous arid landscape of the Sturt Desert. Cross the Dingo Fence and drive to the corner, where NSW, SA & QLD meet. Drive to White Cliffs and try your hand at opal fossicking.

DAY 9. DARLING RIVER RUN, BOURKE
Visit a historic sheep station, once covering a million acres and take a walk to see unique Aboriginal rock art. Then it’s a short drive to Bourke.

DAY 10. BOURKE
Explore the impressive ‘Back O’Bourke’ centre, showcasing the early days of Bourke and beyond. Learn about the Aboriginal culture in Bourke and enjoy a campfire dinner.

DAY 11. BREWARRINA, MACQUARIE MARSHES, WARRUMBUNGLES
See ancient Fish Traps, birdwatch in the Macquarie Marshes, one of the most important wetland areas in the world. Walk in the beautiful Warrumbungles and have a guided night sky tour.

DAY 12. GULGONG, MUDGEE, SYDNEY
Drive through historic Dunedoo, and Gulgong en route to Mudgee, for wine tasting and lunch in a vineyard. Drive back to Sydney
