Tucked away deep in the Patagonian wilderness 37km north of El Chalten, Aguas Arriba is secluded and private on the eastern shore of Lago del Desierto with majestic views of the lake, the north face of Mt. Fitz Roy, Mt. Torre and the Vespignani Glacier. With 700 hectares and 900 metres of shore line, covered with the ancient Nothofagus forest, here you can trek along the lakes or hikes in the forest without seeing other people.
The living room with its 10m ceiling and huge window wall brings the incredible view inside the lodge, and the big fireplace invites you to enjoy the cozy and warm atmosphere. Meals are freshly prepared using natural, local ingredients cooked to Grandma’s recipes, and you are encouraged to learn how to prepare some of the delicious homemade recipes. Every evening before dinner you will meet with the lodge owners to plan the following day activities, which can combine either treks or boat trips.
