Itinerary

Welcome at Guwahati and transfer to hotel. In the afternoon, visit the Kamakhya Temple – the soul of Guwahati and the Srimanta Shankardeva Kalashetra art complex with a sound and light show.

Enjoy a boat ride on the Brahmaputra river and visit the Peacock island – the world’s smallest river island, Hajo, and Saulkachi, a place famous for Assamese silk. Then head to Guwahati to go to Khaziranga, check in at hotel and rest of the day at leisure.

Leave early for an elephant safari to view Khaziranga’s pride – the one-horned rhino and other wildlife. Later, explore the vast national park along the Brahmaputra River with two jeep safaris, in the afternoon and evening.

Drive to Neematighat and board a ferry from there to Majuli – the world’s largest river island.

Proceed to a monastery, passing through Mishing villages en route. Be introduced to the monastic way of life by a monk and learn about the traditional dance – Satriya.

Visit another monastery before taking the ferry back to Neematighat for our transfer to Jorhat. Experience a blissful stay amidst scenic surroundings at the Thengal Manor – a historic Colonial mansion, where Assam’s first daily newspaper was launched in 1935.

Depart for Dibrugarh, stopping en route at Sivasagar to see the Ahom complex – these monuments date back 600 years and bring back to us the days of the Ahom Dynasty. At Dibrugarh, spend a relaxed night at the Chang Heritage Bungalow.

Savour a tea factory tour along with a session of tea tasting. Later, visit the Namphake Temple at Naharketia and Bells Temple before ending the day with a local dance performance.

Transfer to Dibrugarh airport for onward travel.
