Itinerary

Welcome at Delhi and transfer to hotel. Rest of day at leisure to get oriented to Delhi’s dynamism.

Explore Delhi through time starting from the old. The first stop explores the vast Jama Masjid, after which you can amble through old Delhi on a cycle rickshaw from Red Fort to Jama Masjid through the chaotic Chandni Chowk bazaar. Learn Kabootar Baazi, the art of training pigeons, in an old Delhi rooftop.

Proceed to New Delhi and visit the 12th century Qutab Minar and drive past India Gate, Parliament and Secretariat Buildings before concluding with a visit to Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, a revered Sikh temple.

Today, you depart to Varanasi, one of the oldest cities in the world. After checking in at the hotel, spend an afternoon exploring the revered pilgrimage town in a cycle-rickshaw.

Proceed to the Ghats of the river Ganges and watch as the rhythm of the evening prayer reaches a feverish pitch accompanied by the drums and the rituals which makes even the most passive witness want to be a part.

Watch dawn break over the Ghats when you take a boat ride in the Ganges to observe the cremation site. Then make your way through gullies to Aurangzeb’s mosque, view the legendary Viswanath Temple from outside, before proceeding to hotel to depart.

After checking in at hotel at Khajuraho, spend an interesting evening exploring the Western and Eastern group of temples built in 850 AD with the most intricate of sculptures and unbelievably sensuous themes.

Today, leave Khajuraho with its elaborate carvings to proceed to Jhansi, visiting Orchha en route. An ancient fort from the Bundela Dynasty in an island in Betwa River, wellpreserved with its Palaces and Temples, unfortunately never occupied despite its grandeur, Orchha is fascinating to visit.

Proceed from here to Jhansi for your train to Agra.

Start your Agra tour with a visit to the eternal symbol of love – the Taj Mahal; observe its perfect symmetry, and beauty that can never be expressed fully in photographs.
Follow this with a visit to the massive Agra Fort and Itmad-ud-daulah’s Tomb before viewing the Taj again – from a different angle, across the Yamuna at Mehtabagh. Preserve the image of the sun setting over the Taj in your mind, an intangible souvenir of your visit.

Depart Agra for Jaipur, en route visiting Fatehpur Sikhri, the massive sandstone city that was built by Emperor Akbar to be his capital city, but had to be abandoned due to acute water shortage. The next stop is at Abhaneri, a village before Jaipur with fascinating step wells and the well-known Harshat Mata Temple.

Proceed to Jaipur, the Pink City where you can spend the evening walking around the colourful bazaars after checking in at hotel.

Explore the vibrant city of Jaipur today, starting with an elephant ride to the Amer Fort – a fine example of Rajput architecture, complete with royal chambers for ladies, indigenous airconditioning and mirrored halls.

Proceed with a city tour covering City Palace, Hawa Mahal and the Jantar Mantar Observatory before returning to hotel.

Leave the Pink City to reach the Blue City, Jodhpur, en route visiting the holy town of Pushkar with its bathing Ghats, Brahma Temple, the Pushkar Lake and a bazaar street that you just can’t miss for the variety of knick knacks it offers. On arrival at Jodhpur, check in at hotel and relax.

Kick off your morning with an exciting village safari to a Bishnoi village; watch traditionally attired villagers make handicrafts, pottery and jewelry and get an insight into local customs. Also watch protected species of animals like the black buck and chinkaras, protected by these villages. Next, proceed on a tour of Jodhpur, visiting the Mehrangarh Fort and its palaces, and Jaswant Thada.

Leave the blue city to go to the city of lakes – Udaipur, en route visiting the Ranakpur Jain Temples. Pass through verdant valleys to reach the massive, 15th century Ranakpur Temple. Unleash your camera in this exquisite monument with carvings and sculptures chiseled to perfection, bringing history alive before you. Later, after reaching Udaipur, check in at hotel and explore the city market, teeming with silver, leather and miniature paintings.

Explore the charming city of Udaipur today, starting with the grand City Palace boasting superb lake views, the stunning Jagdish Temple, the Bharatiya Lok Kala Mandir – a folk arts museum and the Saheliyon-ki-Bari, a lovely garden with ornamental fountains, built for the maids-in-waiting.

Later, enjoy a boat ride on Lake Pichola, passing through the spectacular Jag Mandir and Jag Nivas island palaces.

Today, you fly to the insanely energetic city of Mumbai, India’s business capital. After checking in at hotel, we embark on a city tour of chaotic Mumbai. Start with the iconic Gateway of India, drive past Afghan Church, Secretariat, the busy Marine Drive, Mani Bhavan and visit the Dhoby Ghat – a unique attraction of the city.

Next, visit the Flora Fountain and the busy Crawford Market.

Set out by boat to visit the mesmerizing Elephanta caves – an oasis of calm in frenzied Mumbai. Dating back to 450 AD, these rock cut temple caves were dedicated to the Hindu God Lord Shiva and have several perfectly sculpted shrines and structures. Spend the rest of your day in Mumbai at leisure.
