Itinerary

Welcome at Kolkata and transfer to hotel. In the afternoon, proceed for a tour of Kolkata covering the majestic Victoria Memorial, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Indian Museum, Dalhousie Square and Writer’s Building.

Fly to Dibrugarh and transfer to the hotel, rest of the day can be spent at your leisure to get oriented with the historic town.

We start with a trip to Duliajan’s Bell Temple; locals believe that when you make a wish and tie a bell here, you wish will get fulfilled. Next, proceed to Nam Phake village and witness the lifestyle of Tai Phakes – immigrants from Thailand and visit the Buddhist temple here before proceeding to explore the lush Joypore Rainforest.

Today, we travel by car from Dibrugarh to Mon, and after check-in at Mon, rest of the day to be at your leisure.

Visit Longwa with a stop at the bank of River Tapi on the way. The charming village of Longwa lies on the border diving Myanmar and India; so, don’t be surprised when you see a house with a dining area in India and a bedroom in Myanmar.

Today, we leave for Jorhat and after checkingin at hotel, if time permits, we can explore the local market.

Depart Jorhat to Neemati Ghat and board a ferry to Majuli, the world’s largest river island.
At Majuli, explore the Sastras or Vaishnavite monasteries and visit a Mishing village and see the tribal houses built on stilts. Tonight, experience the simple comfort of a traditional Mishing Chang.

Proceed to Sibsagar to enjoy a date with history at the Ahom Kingdom’s old capital town, with several of its ancient temples and monuments like the Ranghar, Talatalghar and Shiv Dol still preserved. From here, proceed to Khaziranga National Park, check-in at your lodge, and enjoy the rest of day at leisure.

Enjoy an early elephant safari ride at dawn, the best time to catch sight of Khaziranga’s famous one-horned rhino and other wildlife. Then, after a refreshing breakfast, explore the park again in two jeep safari rides in different zones of the park and get your fill of the wilderness.
The grasslands here form the perfect habitat for the Rhino as well as other animals like the wild elephant, water buffalo and hog deer.

Today, we leave for Kohima, the capital of Nagaland. Upon arrival, check-in to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Amidst the blues and greens of the mountains and forests, the Hornbill Festival of Nagaland is a burst of vivid colours along with a fusion of music, dance, festivities, excellent local food and culture. Words and pictures cannot describe completely the depth of this festival’s spirit – you will be there to experience this spirit today.

Spend another morning enjoying the Hornbill festival’s excitement. In the afternoon, we take a short tour to the WW II Cemetery in Kohima, built by the Japanese. Party through the rest of the evening at the Hornbill Festival’s street carnival.

Transfer to Dimapur airport to connect flight for Delhi. Meeting on arrival and transfer to hotel.

Journey ends after checkout. Ask us what to add next to continue your Indian adventures.
