Jodhpur, The Sun City
Jodhpur is located in and is the second largest city in Rajasthan. It is known as the blue city after the vivid blue-painted houses in the city. Jodhpur is also known as the Sun City as it receives bright sunny weather all year round. This city boasts magnificent forts and palaces and offers a true insight into the cultures and foods of the Rajasthan state.
Is also very well known for being a very good place to shopping, from authentic antiques, different and good quality of fabrics, handcraft and jewelry and more.
You cannot miss their “Makhania lassi”. Thicker than the traditional one, is serve with a spoon perfect as a dessert.
Itinerary

Welcome at Delhi airport and transfer to hotel. Rest of day at leisure.

Discover Old Delhi in a guided tour that takes you first to the Jama Masjid, drives you past the Red Fort and later, takes you through the gullies of Old Delhi from Red Fort to Jama Masjid through the bustling Chandni Chowk Market at a relaxed pace on a bicycle rickshaw. Later, proceed to your hotel in Agra and enjoy the rest of day at leisure.

Treat yourself to the unforgettable view of the Sun rising over the Taj when you visit the monument early this morning. Let your camera devour this magnificent landmark, which is also the universal symbol of love. Later, visit the vast Agra Fort with its lovely gardens, palaces and administrative buildings.

Stop to visit Fatehpur Sikhri, a city that was built by Emperor Akbar in the 16th Century to be used as his capital, but had to be abandoned because of extreme water shortage.

Proceed to Karauli and check in at your Heritage Hotel.

Visit the old town with its delightful handicraft shops selling handmade lacquer bangles, wooden toys and traditional sweets. Proceed to visit the City Palace and the Madan Mohan Ji Temple inside the palace. You may wish to spend the afternoon at leisure or take any of our optional tours – a Jeep safari at Kaila Devi Tiger Sanctuary, a village safari on bicycle or a visit to a charity school and organic farm.

Today, we travel to the vibrant city of Jaipur, Rajasthan’s capital. Check in at your Jaipur hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Else, you can opt for the paid “Temples and Havelis” Heritage walk that gives you an insight into Jaipur’s legacy.

An interesting day, visiting first the Amber Fort, passing through the flower and vegetable market. Ride an elephant up the small hillock to the Fort and observe the perfectly preserved Palace and its wonders. Join a guided tour of Jaipur; visit the City Palace, drive past the Hawa Mahal and stop at the Jantar Mantar, the World’s largest stone observatory.

Day to relax and enjoy Jaipur’s dazzling markets and cultural sights.

Depart for Bijainagar and after checking in at hotel, walk through the charming historic village. Else, take our optional tour – a Bullock cart safari through nearby villages and farms to observe rural life at its best.

Our next stop – Udaipur, the city of lakes.

Check-in at hotel and later, visit a local noble family for a fascinating cooking experience. Buy fresh produce from the market and learn to cook flavourful Indian food; finish with a delicious dinner.

Walk through the city market to experience the spirit of Udaipur; this cheerful bazaar offers leather products, miniature paintings, souvenirs and jewellery. Later, visit the Eklinji temple after which you can sit back and enjoy a boat ride on the Lake Picola. Treat yourself to the sight of the sun setting over the island palaces that further beautify the picturesque lake.

After breakfast depart for Jodhpur, stopping to see the Ranakpur Jain Temples. This huge complex is a treasure-house of carvings and sculptures in exquisite white marble, preserved perfectly from the 15th century. Proceed to your hotel at Jodhpur. Later, explore the main city in a cycle rickshaw and let your camera loose to capture the hues of the “Blue city”.

Start your morning with an interesting Jeep Safari through a Bishnoi village to watch handicrafts being made by villagers, colourful pots being moulded, and intricate jewellery pieces crafted by women in traditional attire. Enjoy a Dhani lunch at a local farm after which we return to Jodhpur to see the Mehrangarh Fort and Jaswant Thada.

Get driven back to an era in the past when you go to Jaisalmer, a historical town with sandstone buildings, narrow gullies, camels and remarkable temples and havelis. Check in at hotel and spend the rest of day at leisure or stroll through the colourful market.

A guided tour of Jaisalmer today will take you to the Jaisalmer Fort which towers over the city, the havelis that lie just outside the Fort, and later, an excursion to the SAM Sand dunes to experience the vast desert of Rajasthan.

You may wish to take our optional package to stay overnight in a tented camp at SAM with a campfire and local performances; else return to hotel.

Depart for Bikaner, yet another ancient town in Rajasthan. After checking in at hotel, visit the Junagarh Fort with its opulent interiors; enjoy a horse ride here, and later, proceed to the National Camel Breeding Farm.

Advance to our next stop, Alsisar today. Set in a semi-arid desert, Alsisar is a charming town, famous for its castle and havelis. In the afternoon, a guided tour to visit Havelis, fresco painted with hundred of windows, has been arranged for you.

Proceed to Delhi after breakfast. Check in at hotel and afternoon at leisure. In the evening, enjoy the hospitality of a local family home in Delhi with home-cooked dinner and tea.

After breakfast, enjoy a guided tour of New Delhi – visit the grand Qutab Minar, drive past India Gate and neighbouring Government monuments, and experience a peaceful evening at the Gurudwara Bangla Sahib. Later, you will be transferred to the airport for your return flight.
